Technology leader with more than twenty-five years of service to nonprofit organizations and deep experience in enterprise applications, technology governance, and responsible AI adoption, with a lasting focus on helping people become capable and confident with technology.
For more than twenty years I've served the National Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá'ís of the United States through its IT department, helping build the platforms its work depends on. Together with my years at Perry Technical Institute, also a nonprofit, that makes more than twenty-five years of service to nonprofit organizations. Today I lead the department's strategic initiatives: governance of our organizational AI work, the design of a volunteer management process and its supporting systems, and extending national IT capacity to thirteen regional councils.
Much of my work has been in enterprise applications. I directed the development of the organization's enterprise CRM, built on Microsoft Dynamics 365 and the Power Platform, which serves the national community down to individual members. I also serve as IT Liaison on the core team for its ERP on Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain Management, which replaced a legacy Sage 500 system. Before this role I led our IT Project Management Office. I have managed 19 direct reports across several teams, and I sit on our IT Leadership team and Architecture Review Team, which oversees backup and recovery, governance, and security posture for all our systems.
The thread through all of it is helping people become capable and confident with technology. That started at Perry Technical Institute, where I founded the Digital Imaging Workshop and went on to teach, and it carried through natural foods retail systems at Good Earth Natural Foods and Whole Foods Market, web development at Sapient, and co-founding Digital Campaigns in San Francisco. These days it looks like a tiered AI learning program, careful guidance on responsible AI use, and clear paths for good ideas to grow into lasting systems.
